Who said sandwiches are synonymous with unhealthy eating? With the recipe we’re presenting today, we’re championing a snack that has saved the day on so many occasions. Because a sandwich can be very handy, it is true, but can also be very nutritious and unique.
In fact, today we are bringing you a highly versatile recipe that can be enjoyed for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. In addition, it is ideal if you have to eat out of the home or if you are eating in the office as it is very filling. And if all that weren’t enough, it’s super easy to prepare, because we want you to look after yourself and enjoy your time.
The star ingredient is salmon, one of the most nutritious fish available due to its high omega-3 content. At Fragata, we’ve added a special twist by replacing the classic pickled gherkins with pitted Queen olives, enhanced with a dill and basil sauce that will leave you licking your fingers. Are you ready to give it a try?
Ingredients:
Sandwich:
- Sliced sandwich bread
- Smoked salmon
- “Grandfather style” marinated olive
- Lettuce leaves
Dill and basil sauce:
- Milk
- Sunflower oil
- Salt
- Lemon juice
- Half cut garlic clove (optional)
Preparation:
- Let’s make a sauce without eggs to avoid risk.
- 2 parts sunflower oil and 1 part semi-skimmed milk (Not skimmed, otherwise it won’t emulsify; it needs some fat to emulsify with the oil).
- Pour in the 3 parts and add the rest of the ingredients.
- Use the flat blender arm against the bottom and begin to blend without moving the arm for at least one minute, until it starts to thicken.
- Once it has emulsified (thickened), you can move the arm around to finish mixing the oil with the milk, and even add more oil if you want to thicken the sauce further, or water if you want it to be thinner.
- Add the basil, dill, salt, and lemon (optionally a little garlic, half a clove, for example).
- Adjust everything to taste and…. enjoy!
